Dorian Pickens, 6-4 JR SG Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle, has a number of high major programs recruiting him.

"I'm hearing from Arizona, Arizona State, USC, Cal, Georgetown, Syracuse, New Mexico, Washington and Boston College – those have been the main ones lately," said Pickens.

Pickens said Arizona, ASU, USC, New Mexico and Boston College have extended scholarship offers to date.

Pickens talked a little about the factors that will influence his decision.

"A good staff and good program are the main things," said Pickens. "Good academics are big too, since I want to have something to fall back on once the ball stops bouncing. The location isn't a big deal. As far as early playing time, I'd like to be able to come in and make an immediate impact. But if I have to wait during my freshman year that would be fine. I'm really looking for a good relationship with the staff."

Pickens said he has taken unofficial visits to ASU, Arizona, Georgetown and Syracuse. He said he may take some more visits in the next few months.

"I'll probably see some of the West Coast schools once I start traveling for club ball," said Pickens.

Pickens said he's in no hurry to pick a school.

"I'll probably wait until my senior year," said Pickens. "I don't want to rush into anything until I'm sure I'm making the right decision.

Pickens said he has a 4.2 GPA.
