Mizerak Impressed With TCU Visit

North Garland offensive lineman Tryston Mizerak is one of the offensive line prospects on the Frogs' radar.

Despite playing for a 1-9 team in 2012, North Garland offensive lineman Tryston Mizerak is a prospect that isn't hard to miss.

College programs are starting to take notice.

Mizerak has already received his first offer two weeks ago from Rice. Others, including TCU, Tulsa and Oklahoma State have picked up there interest in recent weeks. In fact, he received an invite to attend TCU's junior day this past weekend just two days prior.

"A coach at my school has a friend that coaches receivers over there and I think Thursday was when I got the invite so I really hadn't talked to any of the coaches," he said.

Tulsa is another program showing strong interest and the big lineman attended a junior day there a few weeks ago. However, Mizerak says his experience at TCU far outweighed that of Tulsa.

"I really enjoyed it," he said. "I went to Tulsa before, but I enjoyed TCU's better than Tulsa. I enjoyed the coaching staff, they're all really nice people and I enjoyed seeing the campus, the facilities are all nice. I like that it's not a big school with just 25 people per class, but they still get support for their athletic teams."

Mizerak also had a chance to meet with head coach Gary Patterson at the conclusion of his visit.

"At the end I did. It was really about how the program is going up," he said of Patterson. "It really wasn't a big talk."

If one thing stood out to Mizerak while on his visit, it was the family atmosphere. He was impressed when the prospects met with a player panel to ask question about their experience at TCU. Their answers only solidified his thoughts of the program.

"We talked to some of the current players with our parents and everyone went there because of the family feeling," he said. "Everyone there pushes each other every day like a family."
