Owls Pickup D-FW Speedster

The Rice Owl recruiting machine continues firing on all cylinders, picking up another early commitment from a wide receiver prospect hailing from the DFW Area. Go inside OwlDigest.com now to get the 411 on the newest commitment...

Roddy Maginot, a 5-foot-10, 165-pounder from Arlington Bowie HS (TX) has selected Coach David Bailiff's Rice Owls over other offers from schools such as "Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Kansas and Northwestern". He is the 8th known verbal commitment for the Owls this year.

Checking in at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds (not to mention clocking a 4.5 forty at the Scout.com Dallas Combine), Maginot boasts the kind of speed David Bailiff and Co. are looking for in order to stretch the field. And needless to say when he gave the Owls his commitment the Rice coaching staff went nuts. Maginot played both ways as a junior. Chris Jones, another Arlington Bowie product is currently a freshman with the Owls.

We've got more information on Maginot still to come on OwlDigest.com but wanted to bring this exciting story to the Rice Die-Hards now, before coming back with a little more in-depth feature on Maginot's pledge to the Owls...
