The 10th seeded Rice Owls (10-21, 5-12 C-USA) advanced to the second round of the tournament as they defeated the seventh seeded Marshall Thundering Herd (15-17, 7-10 C-USA), 60-59.    Full Story

Now that the Conference USA regular season is officially over, it’s time for us to announce our all-C-USA teams. To no one’s surprise, the Most Outstanding Player Award goes to UCF’s dynamic shooting guard, Jermaine Taylor, who led the conference in scoring with a 26.6 ppg. average, setting a new C-USA record.   Full Story

Wednesday was another busy night of hoops in C-USA, as 10 of the 12 teams were in action. Memphis and Marshall continue to streak, as does UCF in the other direction, and SMU got a rare win on Senior night.    Full Story

It was a busy weekend in the world of C-USA hoops, and unlike the weekday games, there were no real surprises. Memphis continues to roll, UAB bounces back from their mid-week date with Memphis, UCF continues to slump, and Tulsa, Houston, and Tulane take care of business.   Full Story

The Memphis Tigers continue to flex their muscles, as they stay perfect in conference and are the hottest team in the nation with 19 consecutive wins. Rice and Marshall both recorded their first conference road victories of the season, as Rice overcame a record-setting performance by the great Jermaine Taylor. Houston and SMU were game opponents, but couldn’t seal the deal on the road.    Full Story

Despite Jermaine Taylor scoring a career high 45 points, the UCF Knights couldn’t complete a nearly impossible comeback, losing to the 11th place Rice Owls, 69-66.   Full Story

All 12 teams were in action Saturday which made for some exciting C-USA hoops action. Memphis was challenged, but survived, and UAB was especially impressive at home.   Full Story

Another week has gone by in the C-USA and what else is new, Memphis is undefeated. John Calipari’s Tigers are playing stifling defense and some close early season contests have turned into blowouts. Memphis has now won 52 straight C-USA games, and there’s no end to their dominance in sight.   Full Story

It was another big weekend for C-USA basketball, as all 12 teams were in action Saturday, beginning with a clash between the undefeated conference leader Memphis Tigers, and the talented Houston Cougars.   Full Story

Senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) totaled a game-high 20 points and junior forward Tony Davis (Sarasota, Fla.) recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds as the UCF men’s basketball team rolled past Rice for a 77-52 Conference USA win at Tudor Fieldhouse Saturday. The Knights (11-6, 1-2 C-USA) outscored Rice 47-22 after intermission.    Full Story

Duquesne (5-4), coming off an 86-60 loss to Old Dominion on Wednesday, returns to action against Rice (4-5) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Palumbo Center.   Full Story

The #6 Texas Longhorns took care of business on Sunday with a sluggish performance in a game against the Rice Owls that was sandwiched in between the Maui Invitational and a Thursday showdown with UCLA.   Full Story

The #6 Texas Longhorns are back from Maui after a third place finish, rested and ready to host the Rice Owls Sunday at 2pm. The Texas Longhorns didn’t get to the championship game as they had hoped at the Maui Invitational, but took care of business after a heartbreaking loss to Notre Dame by beating Oregon 70-57.   Full Story

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Junior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla./Tavares) totaled 20 points and senior guard Dave Noel (Boynton Beach, Fla./Boynton Beach) added 19 points to lift the UCF men's basketball team to a 68-60 win over Rice at the new UCF Arena on Saturday.   Full Story

In an aging Reliant Arena, one of three "home" courts for Rice while enduring a $25 million, year-long makeover to Autry Arena, and in front of possibly the smallest crowd to see MU basketball since before the Veteran's Memorial Field House was built in 1950, Marshall broke a road-losing streak and opened C-USA play 1-0 in Houston, with a 66-47 win over Rice. 9-4 is best MU start since 2000-01.   Full Story

NASHVILLE-- Vanderbilt improved to 14-0 on Thursday night with a 76-58 win over the Rice Owls at Memorial Gym. Shan Foster led the Commodores with 24 points. A.J. Ogilvy added 14 points and Alex Gordon had 11.   Full Story

With only two games remaining before SEC play begins, Vanderbilt will try to build on its most lopsided win of the season on Thursday night. The Rice Owls are the third team to visit Memorial in the last week, and head coach Willis Wilson and squad come into Nashville looking to score a huge upset.    Full Story
